Playing catch up

I can't believe I haven't written a post since November of 2015.... wow a lot has happened in the past year!! I'll give you the short and sweet version: I found out I was pregnant on New Years Eve, went to Cambodia in February, lost my sweet Reese-dogg in March, got a new puppy (Molly) in May, sold our house in June, moved to Alabama in July, and had a precious little girl in August.

This was taken at my friend's New Years Eve wedding. We found out that afternoon that I was pregnant after doing two pregnancy tests.

Watching the sunrise at Angor Wat. The mission trip was incredible. It was exhausting in every way imaginable. We couldn't take photos of the kids we worked with for privacy reasons, but this photo was from the end of the trip as our team recouped from the week in Phonem Penh.

On March 19th as I was coming home from a trip & picking up Haylee for spring break when we unexpectedly lost my Sweet Reese. She was a month shy of being 10 years old. She was my first baby and I still miss her.

I wasn't sure about getting another dog so soon after Reese passed, but then I met this girl. We named her Molly and she's super cuddly, sweet, hilarious and just what our family needed after the emptiness of losing Reese.

After almost 4 years in this house in NC we said goodbye in July. We finished the renovations and the house sold in less than 2 weeks. We were beyond happy and relieved to have it sold as we headed south to Montgomery.

This is our adorable rental house in Montgomery. I absolutely love living in a historic home and we're loving the neighborhood and our neighbors. However, moving in the Alabama heat of July when you're 7 months pregnant is not fun.

Meet Emma Grace! She joined us a bit early on August 27th weighing in at 7lbs 8oz and 18" long. She's 8 days new in this photo and she is  just the most precious gift from God.

So that's the short and sweet of a year's worth of events. I plan to keep up with the blog more and share some of the graphic design projects I've worked on. I also really want to do a before and after post on our NC house. I was so proud of how the renovations turned out and we did most of it ourselves!
